MUMBAI: A company looking to book bulk air tickets for Kazakhstan for its 20 employees was duped of Rs 2.17 lakh recently. A cheating case has been filed at Mulund police station against proprietor of Ambika Tours, Nirav Vora.
The FIR was lodged by Kailash Karamchandani, alleging that his company was to send its 20 employees to Kazakhstan in November 2022. Through a common friend, he got to know Vora, who claimed to be the proprietor of Ambika Travels. Vora gave him a cheap air ticket offer and provided a budget of Rs 8.41 lakh for 20 flyers. The money was transferred.
"Complainant and his 19 members went to Delhi from where they were to take a flight to Kazakhstan. However, Ambika Travels gave him only 18 tickets, and two other tickets were found to be bogus. The tour operator was to return Rs 2.17 lakh, but did not. He kept making promises, but did not fulfil them," says the complaint.
